FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES - NEW ORLEANS
Walsh Associates led the renovation and re-positioning of this historic building from a Comfort Inn to a Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott.
Originally built in 1904 as the Interstate Electric building, the brick and timber building qualified for valuable state and federal historic tax credits. The $11 million gut renovation included a complete lobby renovation exposing 15 foot ceilings, a new breakfast area and bar. The wall-to wall renovation of guestroom floors revealed high ceilings and exposed timber beams. New guest bathrooms, and conversion to a four pipe system fully modernized the building.
Through the leadership and oversight of Walsh Associates, DonahueFavret Contractors, and John T. Campo & Associates the project was awarded the National Excellence in Construction® Pyramid Award from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) in the Historical Restoration/Renovation, Less Than $25 Million category.
